During a joint operation held by officers from the Primrose Police Station and EMPD last Friday, seven suspects were arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol.

The arrests were made during a roadblock which saw police pulling over and inspecting vehicles.
“The suspects, aged between 24 and 58 years old, were taken to hospital and blood was drawn before they were taken to the Primrose Police Station where they were formally charged,” said communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.

The accused appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court where some were released after paying admission of guilt fines, while others had their cases postponed for trial.
