Who will take the KALFA Super League title?

The difference between Villa and Amaroto is one point, Amaroto is in position two with 17 games played and 36 points, while Villa is sitting in first position, with 18 games played and 37 points.

Villa Development Club has one foot in the play-offs after they crushed Hlahatsi Peace Makers 6-2 during their last game in the KALFA Super League at Khumalo grounds on July 4.

Fans from both sides witnessed an entertaining game filled with adrenaline and goals.

Lucky Jaz and Thabang Moloi scored braces for Villa Development Club in the first half, while Hlahatsi Peace Makers strikers struggled to break the host’s defence.

Molapo Tshimega gave his side hope to fight back after scoring a brace before the match official blew his whistle for half-time.

Villa increased the scoreline in the second half after Excellent Sambo and Mzondelele Ntilashe extended the lead to 6-2.

They are on top of the log table. How long they stay will be determined by the result between the league competitors Amaroto and Dikole Killers.

If Amoroto capitalises on their last game they will replace Villa and go to play-offs. Should they draw they will lose the league title as Villa leads with a 37 goal difference while they sit on 16.

Villa owner Motseki “Tiger” Khanye said the game was a trap, explaining his players do not usually play to their fullest potential against teams they underestimate.

“The game was great, the only problem is discipline. When they play against a strong team you will see their full potential. Today they were just being disrespectful, we should’ve won by 15 goals.

“Football is a results-based sport and when you play with opportunities your opponents will punish you, so I have to instil that discipline in them,” said Khanye.

Hlahatsi Peace Makers coach Masopha Nkhato said lack of communication cost them the game.

“Next season I think I will find good players that can compete in the first team because the current team does not have time management skills. They do not keep time for training and games,” said Nkhato.
