21-year-old dies in car accident on Balfour Road.

One woman has died and two others required emergency care from paramedics before being transferred to a trauma centre following a single car crash on the R51 Balfour Road on September 28.

One woman has died and two others required emergency care from paramedics before being transferred to a trauma centre following a single car crash on the R51 Balfour Road on September 28.
SAPS Nigel and emergency personnel responded to reports of an Audi Cabriolet that has left the road and ended up overturned shortly after 00:30 on September 28.
“When ambulance staff arrived, they found six occupants who had been involved in the life-threatening situation, three of which required immediate medical help. Charlotte Nobathana, a passenger, was nine metres from the vehicle in a critical condition and deteriorating fast. She went into cardiac arrest and despite the best efforts of the paramedics, nothing could be done to save her and was confirmed dead on the scene”, W/O Madeleine von Wielligh from SAPS Nigel reported.
Two other female passengers, Jamiella Visser and Shery-lee Esben sustained significant injuries and were attended to by the paramedics whilst two male passengers suffered serious but stable injuries. The driver of the vehicle sustained stable injuries and will face charges of culpable homicide and drunken driving.
Shery-Lee Esbend was transported to Pholosong Hospital where she is in a critical condition and on life support.
Jamiella’s condition improved, but is still critical and she is being treated at Heidelberg Hospital.
The two male passengers who suffered serious but stable injuries, were transported to Heidelberg Hospital and have since been discharged.
