There was joy, screaming and anxiety at schools on January 6 as the Matric class of 2014 received their results.
Thousands of pupils who wrote the National Senior Certificate exams last year focused on acquiring their matric certificate.
But some pupils were anxiously awaiting news of whether they had received scholarships to further their education.
One of the schools’ top performers, 18-year-old André Reinders received six distinctions.
“It was a bit tough (Matric), but it was fun. I enjoyed everything, I enjoyed how the teachers cared for us,” he said.
“Waking up to study was the most challenging part. I thank God that he pulled (me) through,” he added.
Full results will be published in the upcoming HERAUT publication.
