15 Years behind bars for 3 armed robbers
DUDUZA - 33 year old Bennet Vusi Selepe, 24 year old George Sandile Mabena and 33 year old Lucky Mnisi were found guilty of armed robbery and sentenced to 15 years imprisonment each.

This follows an incident that occurred on 8 September 2013 when the accused followed a tavern owner from his business in Kwa-Thema to his house in Zamani Section, Duduza.
As the victim opened his front gate, the men approached and threatened him with pistols. He was robbed of R11 000. Multiple shots were fired and three assailants fled in the getaway car.
The victim was able to identify the other two suspects as they were family. They were subsequently arrested. After a month of police investigation by W/O Billy Mabilane, the third suspect was also apprehended.
The suspects were found guilty in the Heidelberg Regional Court on September 17 and sentenced to imprisonment. They were also declared unfit to possess a firearm.
Lt Col Louise Droskie, station commander of SAPS Duduza expressed her praise to the investigation official for his professional and thorough investigation in securing the conviction for this murder. She added that this conviction should serve as a warning to other criminals in that they will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
