Police conducted a search at an illegal shebeen on a Groenfontein farm when they received a tip-off about dagga plants growing in the back yard. The dagga was confiscated as well as five crates of beer bottles and the shebeen was closed down.
During the same operation, three motorists were arrested for drunken driving and a further two liquor outlets were closed down and large quantities of various brands of liquor were confiscated.
