Heidelberg SAPS need help to identify the body of a man who was found in the Blesbokspruit on August 9.
The man was wearing black pants and a black shirt when his body was discovered by children who were enjoying a family picnic on the public holiday.
Police estimated that the man was between 30 and 35 years old.
“While children where busy playing, one of them saw an unusual object in the river hooked by a branch of a tree. The child immediately notified the elder. The lady went closer and found that it was a human,” said police spokesman Captain Thivhulawi Tshilate.
She immediately notified the police. On arrival of the police divers, it was detected that it was a white male who was in an early decomposed state.
“Police are appealing to anyone who knows a male person who went missing in the last week to help in tracing the family of the deceased.”
