Add Hope hands over cheque to Nigel Caring Community – every R2 counts!
Nigel Caring Community is a community base non-profit organisation (NPO) in Gauteng that provide nutritious meals, care and developmental projects to orphaned and vulnerable children in Duduza and surrounding areas.
KFC Add Hope team recently handed over a cheque worth R103 000 to the organisation.
“This will ensure we continue to feed the 513 children at the centre with daily nutritious meals,” says King Xaba, project manager of Nigel Caring Community.
“Thank you to Add Hope for allowing us to do more in supporting the wonderful children in our care and giving them the opportunity to continue to thrive and learn,” continues Xaba.
“We are committing to supporting children by feeding them, helping them to apply for support grants, assisting with homework, and giving psychosocial support. We also run various programmes such as life skills, holiday and play skills and development, and thanks to the Add Hope initiative, our dreams of continuing to change lives of the kids in our community can be fulfilled.”
“The Add Hope initiative, almost 10 years old, shows that hope can be stronger than hunger,” says Thabisa Mkhwanazi, the KFC Corporate Affairs Director for Africa and Add Hope Champion. “We support 143 NGOs to feed more than 120 000 children every day, and it’s thanks to our incredible customers we are able to do so.”
