Heidelberg Hospital scoops up awards
During the colourful occasion, Heidelberg Hospital received the following awards which were received by the respective managers and supervisors responsible for the departments
Sedibeng district held its annual awards ceremony called the Sediba Awards at the Hellenic Hall in Vanderbijlpark on March 29. The awards ceremony seeks to recognise excellence in the Health Care Services at government institutions such as hospital and clinics.
During the colourful occasion, Heidelberg Hospital received the following awards which were received by the respective managers and supervisors responsible for the departments:
Best cleaning hospital in the district: Mrs Tshidiso Phake, Ms Girly Thabethe and Ms Selina Ngobeni. Best transport department: Mr Gilford Mosala and Ms Girly Thabethe. Reduction in Maternal death: Matron Lindiwe Dlamini and Sister Mandisa Adoons. In the category Reduction of Neo natal death and children less than five years: Matron Zandile Dladla and Sister Malekhola Skosana walked away with the awards. The Hast and Fast programme category: Matron Potetsa Thithi and Sister Tina Luyt received the honours.

The hospital also received the overall award as the best hospital and boasting the Quality Assurance department. This award was received on behalf of the hospital by the CEO Dr Ronnie Masilela and the Quality Assurance manager Sister Nombuso Tshabalala.
Heidelberg Hospital was also invited to the Khanyisa Awards which are the provincial awards on April 5. The ceremony was held at Birchwood Hotel. The Hast and Fast Programme from Heidelberg Hospital received trophies and certificates, while other departments such as Transport, Cleaning, the Maternity and Paediatric wards won certificates at this prestigious event.
