Captain Tshilate back on duty

Heidelberg SAPS’s beloved Captain Thivhulawi Tshilate is back in the saddle after a long absence caused by a serious car accident in October last year.

 
The Captain has been battling with his leg and groin for months and is still walking with the aid of a crutch, but he is still doing what he knows best since he resumed his duties on June 10.

 
The accident happened in the line of duty when Captain Tshilate responded to a house robbery in progress in Marshall Street. He was driving from Nigel towards Heidelberg when the accident occurred.

 
Not only is the Captain the communication officer of Heidelberg SAPS, but he is also the co-ordinater and communication officer of Ekurhuleni East Cluster. He is one of the many dedicated, patriotic and selfless South African Police Service employees who continue to raise the SAPS flag high and boldly to show their love for the country.

 
It is important for Captain Tshilate to display courage and heroism – defining the commitment of the true police official who prioritises the safety and well-being of his countrymen despite undesirable consequences that come with policing.

“Irrespective of the situation, I am back on duty and will continue to make a difference in the community and to my beloved country. I am passionate about protecting the vulnerable and delivering good quality service to those in need,” Captain Tshilate said.

 
He is urging religious groups, traditional healers and all Christian groups in the community to hold prayer meetings for peace and stability in South Africa.
