Local riding school Carlisle Stud and Equestrian Park, has put Heidelberg on the map with no less than four riders and their horses that have been selected to represent South Africa in the Namibian leg of the African Nations Eventing Cup Series.

Casey-Leigh Smit (11) with her mare Flicka Speed, Adrienne MacDonald-Hutcheson (11) and her gelding Waterford Chocolate, Chané Smit (17) with her gelding Carlisle’s Anuk and Tamara van Vuuren (16) and her gelding Levi will participate at this prestigious event.

The girls will be riding in the 80cm Shield Team. Eventing is made up of three disciplines: Dressage, Show Jumping and Cross Country. It will be the second time that Tamara and Adrienne will be riding for South Africa as part of the Shield team.

“All four girls ride competitively on more than one horse and are extremely dedicated to all their horses and their sport, putting in many hours of training,” Michelle MacDonald-Hutcheson (instructor) said.
