SAPS Duduza was named best performing station among 39 others, under various categories in Ekurhuleni district for the financial year 1 April 2019 to 31 March 2020. District Commissioner of Ekurhuleni, Major General Vincent Leshabane himself bestowed the honour upon SAPS Duduza station commander Lt Col Bheki Mlungu.

The categories for which certificates were issued are best detective branch, best crime prevention unit, best client service centre and complaints (charge office), best human resources division and best overall efficiency.

“I am profoundly pleased with the awards we received, but I also need to commend the different role-players who continuously contribute towards the success of this station. As police officers we work hard, but we work together as a team – from management right down to the local CPF foot patrollers. We support each other, because we do it for our community,” Lt Col Mhlungu said.

Adding his appreciation, Vispol commander Capt Petros Mabuza said their main challenges in the fight against crime are carjackings, house break-ins and theft and assault.

Lt Col Mhlungu praised the community for joining hands with the police and thanked Duduza CPF, the community patrollers and Ekurhuleni Metro Police for their ongoing assistance.
