Accident claims two lives, injures six

Two men were killed and six others injured this morning (December 18) when a truck crashed into a stationary minibus on the N3 in Heidelberg.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 5.47am to find the provincial EMS and fire services already in attendance.
A large truck and minibus were found on the side of the road well alight.

The fire services began to extinguish the blaze while medics tended to the patients.
On assessment, medics found that two men had already succumbed to their numerous injuries. Six other patients were found with minor to moderate injuries.
The patients were treated and thereafter transported to nearby hospitals for further care.
