Water cuts implemented

New water saving measures introduced by LLM.

On October 12, the Lesedi Local Municipality municipal manager, S’Busiso Dlamini, issued a statement informing the community that Rand Water Board will be implementing stage two water cuts in the area.

The water cuts are based on the higher demand due to the current heatwave conditions and frequent load-shedding from Eskom, which has impacted the purification, supply and demand.

Residents and businesses in the Lesedi municipal area are requested not to fill their swimming pools or water gardens.

Water users are also urged to report visible water leaks and continue to use water sparingly under these conditions.

The municipality reserves the right to enforce punitive water usage tariffs for non-adherence to the request to use water sparingly.
