Nigel Methodist Church lights up for Christmas

Contingent to the weather, the lights will be turned on every Friday and Saturday from 19:00 to 20:30 for the public’s enjoyment.

The Nigel Methodist Church began the festive season on December 1 with a Christmas night market and the turning on of their Christmas lights.

This year is the third time the church has been decorated in festive lights.

Numerous Christmas-themed lights are on display.

“The Christmas night market and lights replaced our annual fete three years ago,” said Toeki Tieghi of the church.
“This was because we wanted to spread the joys of Christmas and celebrate with the community. We also wanted to bring the children maximum joy with the Christmas lights.”

With the lights, the church aims to spread the joy of Christmas.

The town’s oldest church ensured something for everyone at the market with the various stalls.

“This year was a great success,” Tieghi continued.

The public is welcome to view and enjoy the lights.

“We had 133% more stalls than last year, and we hope to continue the night market and lights every year.”
Contingent to the weather, the lights will be turned on every Friday and Saturday from 19:00 to 20:30 for the public’s enjoyment.

“As 2023 draws to an end, and the dawn of 2024 approaches, we wish for everyone in our community of Nigel a blessed Christmas and a peaceful and prosperous New Year,” said pastor Albert Steward of the church.

The public can view the lights every Friday and Saturday evening.
