Lesedi Aerobics Movement closes 2025 with final outdoor bootcamp despite rain

Lesedi Aerobics Movement ended its 2025 outdoor fitness with a spirited final bootcamp in Ratanda, overcoming rainy weather to promote health, resilience and community wellness.

The Lesedi Aerobics Movement concluded its final outdoor fitness event for the year with a bootcamp on November 15 in Ratanda.

The session marked the end of a packed 2025 calendar dedicated to promoting health and wellness in the community.

Despite a 30-minute delay due to rainy weather, founder Moeketsi Sebiloane expressed gratitude to residents who braved the conditions and praised their dedication.

“This bootcamp marks the end of a very productive and rewarding year for us at Lesedi Aerobics Movement. Even though the rain slowed us down at the start, we were deeply encouraged by every single person who chose to show up and finish the session with us.

“Our mission has always been to make fitness accessible to everyone, regardless of age, background, or financial situation. That is why we continue to run free sessions and create safe spaces where people can exercise, learn, and grow together.

“As we move into the festive season, we want to encourage residents to stay consistent, stay active, and take care of their bodies. Health is a long-term investment, and small consistent efforts are what keep our community strong. We are excited for what 2026 holds, and we hope to see people joining us on this journey to wellness,” he said.

Yoga and mat instructor Modise Mekoa, who led the mindfulness and stretching segment, praised participants for their focus despite the weather.

“Our sessions are about creating balance, strength, and mindfulness in everyday life. Even with the challenges posed by the weather, participants showed great dedication. Yoga and mat teach us to stay grounded, focused, and committed. We hope more community members will join us on this journey to better health,” he said.

Mekoa added that the organisation also hosted two major annual fundraising events – the Human Rights Day Workout on March 21 and the Youth Day Workout on June 20 – which help fund equipment for their free fitness activities.
