Heidelberg RC scrum opponents into submission

A milestone for two Berge players who have each played 50 matches for the club.

Heidelberg Rugby Club and Thembisa Rugby Club played their last league match at Hoër Volkskool on July 9.

The match was originally scheduled to be played in Kempton Park but was switched at the last moment to Volkskool.

Two Heidelberg rugby players had the honour of each playing their 50th match for their beloved rugby club.

Heidelberg is first in the Kestrel League and Thembisa was close to the bottom of the log.

Berge took five minutes to get their first score on the board. They scored their second try before Thembisa could score.

In the first half, Heidelberg scored six tries and converted three to two tries of Thembisa and one converted.
The half-time score was 36-12.

In the second half, Heidelberg picked up where they left off and scored a further five tries, two of which were converted.

Thembisa were not able to breach Heidelberg’s line again.

Heidelberg’s next match is in the semi-final that will be contested at Hoër Volkskool on July 16.
