Safety and security meet with CPF

The community will be pleased to know that crime has decreased in Secunda.

SECUNDA – Members of Safety and Security held a meeting with the CPF and Police on Thursday, 31 October to discuss issues regarding crime in the area.

Capt Fredrik Viviers announced that contact crimes in October have increased.

“Property crimes and theft out of cars have decreased due to the CPF’s visible patrols in the sector areas.

“The CPF has also been used during various operations with the police.

“Other serious crimes have also decreased and overall we have had arrests in the areas,” said Capt Viviers.

Drugs play a major role where burglaries and theft are concerned as thieves sell the items to feed their drug addictions.

With the festive season around the corner, crime is of a major concern and homeowners must be more responsible and take the necessary precautions when they leave their homes unattended.
