
While following up on information received regarding cases of housebreaking and theft, the Breyten detective team were led to a house in the Enkanini informal settlement on Monday 25 March, where suspected stolen goods were found.
The articles included DVD players, TVs and loudspeakers.
Further investigations then led police to another house in the same area where more suspected stolen goods were recovered.
Among these was a 9mm toy gun.
Some of the articles were reported stolen after various houses in the Breyten area had previously been broken into.
Three suspects, aged 24, 26 and 27 were arrested and appeared in the Breyten Magistrate’s Court the following day.
Police spokesman for Breyten, Const Thabo Mashegoane, has urged the community not to support criminals by buying stolen goods and to report all criminal activity to the police at all times.
He also urged residents not to leave their houses unattended.
