Small-town girl on global screens

From a small town in South Africa to the screens of film festivals around the globe, Kayleigh is just getting started.

Ermelo-born Kayleigh, daughter of local businessman Iain and Ronelle Gilbert, is an example of “if you dream it, you can achieve it”.
Kayleigh (21), who graduated from a two-year programme at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute, is fast making a name for herself in Hollywood movie circles.
She recently took the lead role in Escaping the Holocaust, a documentary in which she portrays Rena, Max’s love interest.
Max escapes from a prison camp in Warsaw and leaves Rena behind; 30 years later they reunite and are married.
Escaping the Holocaust will be entered into various film festivals which include the likes of Sundance Cannes, Toronto and Tribeca.
Since the completion of this documentary, Kayleigh has completed production of several other festival forerunners.
Recently, Kayleigh was cast as the lead in The African President, filming of which will begin in the next few weeks.
