Four people died in at least eight accidents that were reported in and around Ermelo last night.
In a late night accident the driver and his passenger died instantly when the VW Polo Vivo they were travelling in slammed into a tree and overturned after the driver lost control of his vehicle on the N11 between Ermelo and Hendrina. The accident happened 12 km outside Ermelo shortly after 22:00.
Another two people were reported to have died in two separate accidents that were recorded during the night.
At least another five people died in unrelated violent incidents.
