Department hosts wellness day
Farmers were also advised to encourage regular exercises so as to reduce health related costs.
The Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs (DARDLEA) held its Employee Healthy Lifestyle Awareness Campaign in Amsterdam Environmental Centre last Friday.
The purpose of the health day was to encourage healthy leaving and healthy habits to its employees. During the campaign, farmers and employees were educated on healthy eating and how to take care of their bodies. They were also encouraged to exercise regularly as it is good for their bodies and mental health.
The crowd was also taught about health education and coaching, weight management, medical screenings and the importance of regular consultations with a medical practitioner.
