Peter cycles for Jesus
Whether it's raining, extremely hot or a mountain pass he has to conquer, he carries on with the encouragement of Jesus.
It has been two years and four months since Peter Cairncross (64) set off on his bicycle from Somerset West to spread God’s Word around the country.
Homeless and unemployed Peter previously sought refuge in a night shelter.
According to Peter, it was not the safest place to be, as it was frequented by drug addicts.
That is when he asked the Lord what he should do.
“God told me to go round the country and encourage Christians not to give up,” Peter said.
So he got himself a second-hand bicycle and set off on his journey.

fter cycling 7400 km, Peter arrived in Ermelo on Monday.
He hopes to stay here for a month before moving on to Pongola.

Peter travels six hours a day and averages 9 km an hour and he claims that he has not had a puncture on his bicycle in all this time.
He had to replace only one spoke and mend one punctured wheel on his trailer.
Peter says he is living proof of God’s encouragement and that he is looking forward to meeting new people and spreading God’s Word in Ermelo.
