Party concerned with road carnages
"We have witnessed too many holidays turn into tragedies"
Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) has expressed it’s concern at the ongoing road carnages caused by negligent driving on the roads.
IFP’s National Chairman Blessed Gwala has encouraged road users to be vigilant on the roads as this week marks the Easter weekend which always sees a huge increase in road traffic volumes, he urges drivers to take regular rest stops to avoid fatigue.
“Citizens travelling on our roads do not feel safe especially in view of many drivers seen to exceed speed limits and are involved in dangerous overtaking. Traffic officials visibility will go a long way in ensuring safety on our roads, we have also witnessed too many holidays turn into tragedies,”said Mr Gwala.
He also called for stringent road worthy tests to vehicles transporting passengers.
