Foundation touches lives
We won't be able to reach out to everyone or solve all the problems, but we try to play a meaningful role, especially here in my hometown.
Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training, Mr Mduduzi Manana recently donated furniture to an activity centre in Wesselton through his Mduduzi Manana Foundation.
The Ermelo Activity Centre for the Disabled was the recipient of an electric stove, chest freezer and chairs.
Centre manager Ms Busi Shongwe said she was grateful for the donation of the much-needed articles, as it would make their life easier.
Mr Manana said his foundation strives to fill some of the gaps that government cannot and to reach out to those that are in dire need of help.
“Of course we won’t be able to reach out to everyone or solve all the problems, but we try to play a meaningful role, especially here in my hometown. As for this furniture, we’re trying to create an atmosphere that will be conducive to learning and hope that these children will be able to leave one day with skills to assist them in their lives,” Mr Manana said.
Mr Manana went on to donate food parcels, groceries and blankets at the Thuthukani Hall to more than 30 senior citizens of an old-age centre.
