A newborn baby girl was found abandoned on the pavement near a tavern in Mayflower last Sunday.
The baby was found by a passerby after hearing the infant cry. The matter was reported to the police and they took her to the Mayflower Clinic to be examined.
She was reportedly healthy and was placed in the care of Embuleni Provincial Hospital.
Mayflower Police request anyone with information that will assist them in tracing the mother of the baby to contact D/Sgt Duba on 082 771 0833.
