Man lands in sewage

A resident of Ext 32, south of Ermelo, recently had the unpleasant experience of falling into an excavation filled with raw sewage that flows from an overflowing drainage system.

According to residents, the sewage has been flooding the area for at least 10 years and the excavation has since become overgrown with grass, creating a danger for unsuspecting pedestrians.

In 2006, a woman fell into the same excavation and was taken to hospital with lacerations to her left arm.

Appeals to the Msukaligwa Municipality to rectify the situation have so far yielded no results.
