Mr Linda Malaza is on a quest to change the lives of people with just his voice.

The Ermelo native recently released his third gospel album in June and is, according to him, just getting started.

Not many can say they have three albums under their belt at just 31-years-old, but Mr Malaza, who goes by the stage name of Dr Malaza, is testament to such a feat.

His career spans 11 years, which began in the City of Lights, Johannesburg when members of his church encouraged him to record his music because his voice touched their souls.

This began a long career in the church and music circles.

After he was saved in 2005, Dr Malaza built a foundation in the music industry, going on roadshows to promote his music.

A session in a recording studio in 2007, led to the launch of his first album in 2008.

The following year saw the birth of his second album and his career in the ministry as a church leader.

Nowadays, Dr Malaza ministers in his church, which he founded in 2017, in Hendrina.

Dr Malaza ministers more than 200 church members.

Home is where the heart is and after many years on the road doing shows, Dr Malaza moved back to his hometown of Ermelo and is on a mission to change the lives of anyone willing to listen.

His music is played on all the local and various provincial radio stations.

With such a career, a business mind is needed and Dr Malaza ventured into business which is also in line with music, renting out sound systems to churches and weddings.

This has helped to sustain his thriving music career which is not for the faint-hearted.

According to Dr Malaza, he is the only artist in Mpumalanga to sell more 15 000 albums within a month.

“Bear in mind that I am an independent artist and not affiliated to any record label,” Dr Malaza said.

The father of two will be officially launching the third album as plans are underway to find a suitable venue where his fans can congregate.

“It will be a day of worship and praise and my aim is to touch and lead people into their chosen, rightful paths.”

Dr Malaza’s albums can be found at both local radio stations and music stores in the province.
