Three men sentence on charges of robbery with aggravating circumstances in Ermelo

The three men were declared unfit to possess firearms and an Audi A4, that was used during the robbery, was forfeited to the state.

Three men were sentenced on Wednesday, 6 March, on charges of robbery with aggravating circumstances in the Ermelo Regional Court.

“The sentence stems from an incident on Thursday, 19 November 2015 when they detained staff and clients with a firearm in Exact! store in Ermelo and fled with cash and cell phones,” said Capt Carla Prinsloo, Ermelo Police spokesman.

The Highvelder previously reported that the three men were traced to R39 Morgenzon Road and farmwatch, neighborhood watch members, and the police arrested the three suspects in the Standerton and Holmdene areas.

Mandla Khumalo (35) was sentenced to 10 years in prison, Sipho Mlanga (25) was sentenced to 15 years in prison and Jeffrey Nkomo (34) to 13 years.

The three men were declared unfit to possess firearms and an Audi A4, that was used during the robbery, was forfeited to the state.
