Job opportunity allegedly restricted from local entrepreneurs

However, it has been recently alleged that from time to time members from the municipality, who are in charge of opening and closing their section of Ermelo Sport Inn, does not open the door.

Mr Walter Sindane, local entrepreneur, and his partners complained about the Msukaligwa Municipality allegedly treating them unfairly.

Mr Sindane was one of the students that received a certificate and occupied the section of Ermelo Sport Inn as workshop.

According to Mr Sindane one of the members from the municipality is in charge of opening and closing the doors of the workshop after each day of work.

This gave him and his partners a job opportunity.

Mr Sindane along with his partners have been occupying the space for six months.

However, it has been recently alleged that from time to time members from the municipality, who are in charge of opening and closing their section of Ermelo Sport Inn, does not open the door.

Mr Sindane and his team have been willing to sign a contract in order to occupy the space as a workshop.

He said, “We don’t want this place for free, we are willing to pay rent every month.”

The Highvelder sent an email to Mr Mandla Zwane, spokesman for Msukaligwa Municipality.

Mr Zwane said, “The municipality considers the encouragement of sporting activities an important priority like job opportunities.”

He added that at no stage the municipality entered into agreement with the learners to use the place as a workshop.
