The eight suspects that was recently arrested in Breyten and Diepkloof, in connection with manufacturing drugs appeared in Ermelo Magistrate’s Court on 2 September.
The case against the seven men, Messrs Tebogo Nkolwane (40), Mzingise Makoto (69), Rederick Barth (30), Jabulani Dladla (46), Bandile Zigane (35), Vuyo Zigane (32) and Tokologo Maimene (29) was postponed to 12 September, in Ermelo Magistrate’s Court, for formal bail application.
The case against the 61-year-old, Ms Msewu Andronica Zigaga was referred back to Orlando High Court, for bail application on 9 September.
All suspects were remanded into custody.
This followed a Hawks driven operation, where members simultaneously raided a laboratory in Breyten and a Mandrax chemical storage facility in Diepkloof.
Spokesman for the Hawks, Capt Dineo Sekgotodi said: “About R210m worth of Mandrax was seized as well as equipment used to manufacture the drug.”
