Sewage flows uninterruptedly in Ermelo Streets

Numerous sewer leakages are overflowing with the stench thereof noticeable when you pass several streets in Ermelo.

The Highvelder previously published two articles about the overflowing manhole in President Fouché Street that is leaking once again.

Mr Mandla Zwane, spokesman of Msukaligwa Municipality, said at the time, most of the sewers pipes connect in the main pipeline in President Fouche Street, thereafter it flowes to the waste water treatment plant in Wesselton.

He added, the sewer spillages in general can be attributed to aging sewerage infrastructure, population growth, community members putting foreign object into the sewer infrastructure.

According to a resident who wishes to remain anonymous,  the sewer has been leaking for over nearly a month without any intervention from the municipality

He has reported the incident numerous times to the municipality however, in vain.

Another sewer in Merino Street continues to leak for about a month.
