Tuckshop in Thusi Village sells expired food to community

According to Ms Bongi Ka Dube, spokesman of Gert Sibande District Municipality, The health services team is investigating the matter.

A tuckshop in Thusi Village sold expired food to locals in Ermelo.

According to a community member, police confiscated some of the expired items however, a large portion of the items were left behind on 29 January.

Capt Carla Prinsloo, spokesman of Ermelo Police, said: “I cannot comment as it is a health issue, but the police only assisted health inspectors.”

According to Ms Bongi Ka Dube, spokesman of Gert Sibande District Municipality, The health services team is investigating the matter.

“They are busy with inspections of shops daily and are addressing these matters.”
