Carolina Police arrest three men at liquor outlet

The men were charged with contravening section 27 (2) of the Disaster Management Act 57/2002 Regulations 11B 1(b) for operating their business during the national lockdown.

Carolina Police and the South African National Defense Force (SANDF) arrested three men during a lockdown operation for operating a licensed liquor outlet.

The men were charged with contravening section 27 (2) of the Disaster Management Act 57/2002 Regulations 11B 1(b) for operating their business during the national lockdown.

The liquor was confiscated.

The trio will appear in Carolina Magistrate’s Court on 6 April.

Sgt Thabang Mokwana, the spokesman for Carolina Police, said: “People must know that law enforcement is there to enforce the law and ensure that people adhere to the regulations.”

He advises residents to comply with the regulations.
