Lothair Police are concerned as the streets are still full of residents, despite the national lockdown to contain the spread of Covid-19.

According to Const Bathobile Khumalo, spokesman for Lothair Police, residents are lying to the police about collecting essential goods and are constantly seen wandering about in the streets.

She added that numerous arrests have been made as residents do not adhere to the regulations of the lockdown.

The police have made numerous attempts to warn residents of the seriousness of the situation and continue with daily operations to ensure compliance with regulations.

Const Khumalo warned residents to stay at their homes unless absolutely necessary.

“Residents should only go out when they need essentials, by doing that we will be able to flatten the curve of infections.”
