Ermelo Police arrest 26 people for violating lockdown regulations

“Some of the people that were arrested were found outside their houses with no valid reason, while others were selling cigarettes and operating their businesses outside the given operating times.”

Ermelo Police has reported that no serious crimes were reported to the police over the past weekend.

Capt Carla Prinsloo, the spokesman for Ermelo Police, added, however, that 26 people have been arrested for violating regulations in terms of the Disaster Management Act.

“Some of the people that were arrested were found outside their houses with no valid reason, while others were selling cigarettes and operating their businesses outside the given operating times.”

Ermelo Police called on all residents to comply with the lockdown regulations.
