Chief Albert Luthuli Municipality fumigate Carolina to minimise the risk of Carolina residents being infected

The municipality will continue with Silobela Location and Caropark on 20 April.

Employees of Chief Albert Luthuli Municipality (CALM) recently began their programme to fumigate numerous public areas in Carolina.

According to Mr Thapelo Phetla, spokesman for Chief Albert Luthuli Municipality, this is part of their efforts to minimise the risk of infection of Covid-19.

He added that the municipality also recently disinfected taxi ranks at Tjakastad, Enhlazatshe, Lochiel, Dundonald and Fernie.

This included the U-save Checkers centre in Fernie.

In addition, they disinfected Spar Centre, U-Save Checkers and OK Centre in Carolina, including all the filling stations.

All the shops in Voortrekker Street, as well as the pavements, were fumigated.

The municipality will continue with Silobela Location and Caropark on 20 April.

“Our priority is to keep the communities of CALM safer.”

Other areas that will be fumigated soon are Emanzana, Elukwatini/ Nhlazatshe, Tjakastad, Ekulindeni, Oshoek, Mayflower and Diepdale.
