Sassa service offices working conditions adherence to Covid-19 lockdown regulations
This includes the implementation of strict social distancing along with only a minimum number of clients served per day.
The South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) informed all clients who want to apply for social grants, that strict measures will be implemented.
This includes the implementation of strict social distancing along with only a minimum number of clients served per day.
The daily operations are scheduled as follows:
- Monday and Tuesday: Applications for old age grants
- Wednesday and Thursday: Applications for child support grants and foster care grants
- Friday: Overflow applications from Wednesday and Thursday and disability grants or care dependency grants which will be conducted on an appointment basis, where Sassa have received medicals prior to the lockdown. (Sassa card issuing, PIN resets and replacement of cards will be done at the South African Post Office).
Older persons and people with disabilities social grant payments will be done on 3 June and 4 June.
Other social grants will be paid from 5 May. (Where either the 3rd or the 5th falls on a weekend or public holiday, the payment date moves forward to the next working day.)
Beneficiaries must use official Sassa communication platforms or visit local offices to get accurate information and clarity where there is a misunderstanding.
