Highvelder sells over 1 000 cupcakes during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

The paper's staff sold over 1 000 cupcakes, of which all proceeds will be donated to Cupcakes of Hope.

ERMELO – For Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Highvelder partnered with Cupcakes of Hope, a non-profit company and public benefit organisation, to host a fundraising event on September 30.

The event took place at the Highvelder offices at 43 Kerk Street.

Learners of Hoërskool Ermelo sponsored some cupcakes: Tiaan Grobler, Ms Betsie Vermeulen and Carla Ferreira enjoy one each.

Together with the support of the Ermelo community, the paper “baked” a difference in the lives of those who battle with cancer.

Cupcakes of Hope is a community-driven project that achieves its objectives through the love of baking cupcakes, community participation and amazing events.

Highvelder would like to thank Jam Drop Bakery and Deli, who sponsored vouchers for the customers, as well as every individual who supported this initiative, donated and helped with the baking.
