Ermelo without power minutes after voting stations close

1 November – 21:32

Mere minutes after the voting stations in Ermelo closed, some areas were reported to experience power outages.

Residents took to social media to air their frustration and skepticism.

“Time for votes to be counted and pooof, power off? Strange right?” one resident said.

“Exactly, when we do the vote counting then the power is off,” another resident agreed.

“We all know what is happening,” a resident stated.

Highvelder reached out to Mr Mandla Zwane, the spokesman of the Msukaligwa Municipality who said, “A standby electrician is on his way to check what might have caused the outage in the affected area.”

He did not supply a restoration time.

As soon as more information is obtained a follow-up article will be published.
