EXCLUSIVE ONLINE – Keenan wears his talent on his sleeves

“I love enhancing fabrics by making it custom and bringing it to life with my paintings.”

ERMELO – Mr Keenan Moosa is a self-taught artist who paints on fabric.

His love of the arts stemmed from his childhood.

“When I was little, I used to go to work with my mum, and she would give me clean sheets of paper to draw on.

“My imagination would run wild,” he said.

He decided to pursue a career in painting on clothes.

He loves fashion and keeping up with the trends.

“I love enhancing fabrics by making them custom and bringing them to life with my paintings.”

He does not have a set style and said he constantly pushes the envelope to ensure each piece is unique.

Mr Moosa describes himself as an artistic soul.

Apart from his main love, which is painting, he enjoys composing music, has his own clothing brand, and also does graphic designing.

His work ranges from quirky cartoons to detailed portraits of people.

“One of my many favourite pieces would be the portrait piece of a South African artist, DJ Maphorisa, I painted on a T-shirt,” he said.

He said when he receives positive remarks and feedback from residents and clients in and around Ermelo, it makes all his efforts worthwhile.

“People like my pieces and how I enhance their clothes.

“My clients not only wear what they love, but they’re also making bold fashion statements,” he concluded.
