Sheepmoor police arrests two suspects in connection with possession and dealing in dagga

SHEEPMOOR – Police arrested two suspects in connection with being in possession and dealing in dagga.

Phumelele Zungu (24) and Ntokozo Malinga (30) were arrested in two separate incidents, after the police received a tip-off of a truck traveling from Mkhondo (Piet Retief).

Const Thembelihle Mshayisa, spokesman for Sheepmoor police, said, “When the police received the information, we were given the name of a truck company”.

“Two trucks from the company were stopped and both suspects were found with dagga in their possession.”

She added that Zungu was found in possession of 10.4kg of dagga and Malinga with 11.5kg.

The total street value of the dagga that was confiscated is approximately R24 000.

The suspects first appeared in Ermelo Magistrate’s Court on July 8.

She added that Zungu were granted bail, while Malinga was remanded into custody.
