Ermelo’s Nkosinathi “Mphotholozi” Fakude wins a Mgoma

This singer-songwriter has been featured in many local gospel albums and has made a name for himself in gospel circles around the Gert Sibande District.

ERMELO – Mr Nkosinathi “Mphotholozi” Fakude recently won the best single at the eighth Mpumalanga Gospel Awards, known as the Mgomas.

His single, “Siyawadinga Amandla Akho”, meaning “we need your power”, was a big hit at the awards.

Mr Fakude was selected to perform at the awards, and told Highvelder this opportunity meant the world to him.

He is a proud born-again Christian and grew up in the church where his grandfather, Mr Mkhulu Petros Zwane, was a pastor.

This singer-songwriter has been featured in many local gospel albums and has made a name for himself in gospel circles around the Gert Sibande District.

Born and bred in Mayflower, he now calls Ermelo his home.
