Meet Ermelo Mediclinic’s new hospital manager Tessa Williamson

With her passion for nursing and skills to run a hospital and business, she again felt the need to do bigger things, and applied for the position of hospital manager in Ermelo.

ERMELO – Mediclinic Ermelo welcomed its new hospital manager, Ms Tessa Williamson, to the team on March 15.

She said she already feels at home in her office.

Ms Williamson said that even though she had never been to Ermelo before, from the moment she set foot there, she felt at home.

She says she has set very high standards for herself, strives to enhance patient care, and is committed to consistently deliver quality care.

She was born and raised in Dundee, and has always known that she wanted to work in the medical field.

Soon after she had matriculated from Dundee High School, she moved to Pietermaritzburg to pursue her nursing career at Grey’s Hospital.

Upon completing her studies, she returned to Dundee, where she got married and became a school nurse.

Ms Tessa Williamson was recently appointed as Mediclinic’s hospital manager.

Ms Williamson later moved to Cape Town, and felt her career in the medical field was really kick-started there.

“I got into theatre nursing, but developed this urge to do bigger things in the field,” Ms Williamson said.

It motivated her to study nursing management.

Around this time, day clinics became the latest trend.

She got the opportunity to join a well-known day clinic, Mediclinic, as hospital manager in Somerset West and ran it successfully for three years.

“I always loved Mediclinic. I always say there is no clinic like Mediclinic.”
