Six arrested for alleged illegal mining activities in Elukwatini

Six suspects were arrested in connection with illegal mining activities

SAPS in Mpumalanga has successfully apprehended six illegal mining suspects, aged between 29 and 33.

They were arrested on July 23 as part of the intelligence-driven Operation Vala Umgodi.

The acting provincial commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Major General Zeph Mkhwanazi, commended the efforts of the officers involved in the operation.

“The continuous fight against illegal mining activities is crucial for the safety and economic stability of our province. We commend the dedication and effectiveness of our officers,” Mkhwanazi said.
