Sassa changes November 2026 grant payment dates ahead of elections

National Treasury has approved an adjusted timetable intended to minimise disruptions to social grant payments during the election period.

Older persons will receive their November Sassa grants on Friday, October 30, following changes to the payment schedule ahead of the local government elections.

In a statement dated October 14, the South African Social Security Agency said National Treasury approved the revised dates after consultations with stakeholders. The changes aim to minimise payment disruptions during the election period.

The November payment schedule is:

  • Older persons grants: Friday, October 30.
  • Disability grants: Monday, November 2.
  • Children’s grants: Tuesday, November 3.
  • Grants under review: Thursday, November 5.

The October 30 payment forms part of November’s grant cycle.

Beneficiaries whose grants are under review must respond to official communication and attend review appointments when requested.

Beneficiaries are encouraged to consult SASSA’s official website and its verified social media accounts for accurate information about grant payments.
