Woman arrested during drug bust in Ermelo
A 41-year-old woman was arrested for the possession of drugs on January 5.
ERMELO – A 41-year-old woman was arrested for the possession of drugs on January 5.
Her arrest came after the multidisciplinary teams of Operation Vala Umgodi received some information about a house at which drugs were sold and other related activities were taking place.
According to Brigadier Donald Mdhluli, a provincial police spokesperson, the information indicated that a woman was at the head of these criminal activities.
The SAPS conducted a search inside the house and around the premises.
They found a bag containing various drugs, including dagga, and what is suspected to be mandrax and cocaine, with an estimated value of R15 000.
The SAPS also discovered R3 827 in cash in one of the rooms.
The suspect was charged with dealing in drugs and was expected to appear in the Ermelo Magistrate’s Court on Monday, the outcome of which was unavailable by the time of going to press.
