Charity Ride: Making a difference across 5 provinces

The ride will take place from July 2 to July 16 and people can join in to make a difference and create a brighter future for South Africa's youth.

Pediatric Care Africa (PCA) is gearing up for an extraordinary charity event—the second “On-Trac-Tor” journey.

Covering an impressive 2 500 km through five provinces, this trek aims to raise awareness and funds for children in South Africa that requires medical treatment, surgeries and baby food.

The ride will take place from July 2 to July 16 and people can join in to make a difference and create a brighter future for South Africa’s youth.

The campaign serves three vital purposes:

  1. Providing Essential Support: By participating in this ride, PCA generates awareness and collect funds for medical care, surgeries, and baby food for children across South Africa. Since 2017, they have made a significant impact, offering free medical care to 6 797 individuals, specialised treatment to 1 327 children, life-changing surgeries to 116, and distributing essential supplies, including 409t of food parcels, 6 023 tins of baby formula, and 7 023 packets of baby porridge.
  2. Raising Awareness of Child Safety: According to PCA’s research, In South Africa, approximately 1 014 children are tragically killed each year, with 1 184 subjected to attempted murder. Furthermore, 24 387 cases of sexual offenses, 7 815 cases of assault with intent to cause harm, and 10 829 incidents of common assault were reported against children last year.
  3. Supporting the Fight Against Farm Attacks and Murders: PCA stands united with the 911 Riders, advocating for a safer environment and joining the fight against farm attacks and murders. “Together, we can raise awareness and work towards a better future,” Surika van der Merwe, the secretary of PCA, said.
