Travelling singer serenades passersby at Ermelo’s Oak Centre.

Some have noticed this unknown man sinning about a night out in Ermelo, but for many others, this is just another homeless person trying to make month end.

There is a guitarist at the Oak Centre, singing and making music for passers-by.

This guitarist’s name is Sean Tree, and he has a story to tell – or rather, sing.

He is a traveller, and Ermelo is one of the many towns he says will just be a temporary resting place.

Tree learned to play the guitar while he was in England, and soon noticed he could live a life fulfilled by performing and touring.

He travelled Europe for six years, but had to return to South Africa due to his mother passing away.

Since then, he has seen most of South Africa by foot or by bus, if he can afford to.

Tree also composes his own music, specifically gospel music. He sees his musical talent as a way to preach the Gospel of God.
