Siyanda Simelane stripped everything from his house to sell and finance his addiction.
Drug abuse is notorious for the devastating impact it has on individuals and their immediate surroundings.
Highvelder ventured out to find a courageous individual willing to share their story, shedding light on the hidden and rural truth behind addiction in town.
Siyanda Simelane stepped forward to tell his story . Simelane, a resident of Wesselton, was once an active member of the community, contributing to society and his neighbourhood.
However, he fell victim to drug abuse, a journey that transformed him from a brother, father and husband into a man battling addiction.

Simelane said he is embarrassed by his use of drugs, and will at times disappear to do this so nobody can see him.
Out of desperation, he started attending a church nearby, hoping he would receive help without any judgement.
